Independence

No manufacturer, retailer or service provider pays for or approves our guides. We accept no free products in exchange for coverage.

Sources

Safety and pest-prevention guidance is based on primary public sources: federal agencies such as the CPSC, EPA and CDC, published standards such as ASTM F2057, and university extension programs such as UC IPM. Each guide lists its sources and the date they were checked. Where manufacturers' instructions differ from general advice, follow the manufacturer.

Authorship

Guides are credited to the Assembly Desk editors. We don't claim licences, trade certifications or professional credentials, and we don't publish testimonials or reviews.

Links and disclosure

We link to sources because they help readers check our work. If we ever link to a commercial resource, it will be because it adds useful information to the guide, and any paid or sponsored placement will be clearly labelled and marked as sponsored.
